Blessed John Henry Newman
As well as benefiting from the patronage of Mary the Mother of Jesus, the English Ordinariate is dedicated to the Blessed John Henry Newman, beatified by Pope Benedict in 2010. One of the brightest and holiest of Victorian clergyman, Newman famously converted from Anglicanism into the Catholic Church contributing much to both communions.
A diverse body of believers and covering all political spectrums we are drawn together by a shared belief in the revelation of the Christian faith. Formerly part of Saint Barnabas’ Church, Tunbridge Wells we made a decision to leave Anglicanism and join the Catholic Church. A decision was not linked to one particular issue but from a desire for unity and truth.
A church both old and new we are founding members of the English Ordinariate. Would
you be interested in joining us in proclaiming anew the faith of the ages? If so
free to get in touch via the Email provided in the ‘Contact Us’ link. We are not
a club for the pious but a hospital for sinners and we are deeply committed to those
who worship with us.
