January at Saint Anselm’s

Pictured above is Fr. Stephen Bould, a priest of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham, who is the next guest speaker in our popular lecture series ‘I believe…’ which we are hosting in celebration of the ‘Year of Faith’. Fr Stephen will give an address entitled ‘I believe…in the God of Israel’ on Wednesday January 9th. Low Mass at 7pm, refreshments at 7:30 and address at 8pm. Do put it in the diary and spread the word amongst friends. Let us ensure we maintain the fantastic support this lecture series has so far enjoyed!

The previous Sunday, 6th January, we will be holding the last of our three seasonal carol services. The Epiphany carol service begins at 6:30 and again everyone is invited. It will be followed by a glass of wine and nibbles.

Finally it is worth mentioning the national Ordinariate Carol Service which is being held by candlelight at Saint Mary’s Cadogan Street (nearest tube is Sloane Square) on Thursday 10th January at 7pm.

  1. I see that Fr. Stephen has taken over from Fr. Stephen Langridge as ‘parish priest’ at Our Lady, Help of Christians in Folkestone. It’s a lovely church, too. It’s nice that Archbishop Peter Smith is willing to help out the Ordinariate priests in his diocese.

  2. Terry….not sure where Fr Stephen Langridge suddenly popped up from! Fr Roger Nesbitt has been Parish Priest at OLHC in Folkestone for about 30 years or so. Fr Stephen, a first-class priest, took over from him but as Parish Adminstrator (rather than Parish Priest) of this very large and diverse parish. What a coincidence that he should now be guest speaker at my old parish of Pembury.

  3. Terry, sorry yes you are correct. I mistook Holy Ghost in Balham where Fr Langridge was PP for many years.
Yes, I know he is the parish administrator, hence I put parish priest in inverted commas.
